Terms of Service

These terms form the agreement between you and Verogig when you use the platform as an organisation booking music, or as a musician offering services.

Last updated: 2 August 2026

1. Who we are and what Verogig does

Verogig is an online marketplace operated by TheQuestLab that introduces organisations — churches, wedding venues and event organisers — to self-employed musicians in the United Kingdom. By creating an account you accept these terms.

2. Intermediary status — we are not the employer

Verogig acts solely as an intermediary and booking agent. We are not a party to the engagement agreed between an organisation and a musician, and we are not the employer, agency worker supplier, or principal of any musician.

  • Musicians are independent, self-employed contractors. They set their own rates, accept or decline any request, choose their own repertoire and method of performance, and supply their own instruments and equipment.
  • Musicians are solely responsible for their own income tax, National Insurance, VAT where applicable, and any licences or insurance their work requires.
  • Nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture, or worker status between Verogig and a musician, or between Verogig and a booking organisation.
  • Verogig does not supervise, direct or control how a musician performs a booking, and does not guarantee the quality, punctuality or suitability of any musician.

3. Accounts

You must be 18 or over and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, misuses the platform, or presents a safeguarding or fraud risk.

4. Bookings and fees

  • Searching and messaging are free. There is no subscription and no listing fee.
  • Verogig charges a platform fee of 2.5% of the agreed booking fee on confirmed bookings, capped at £60 per booking.
  • The organisation offers a fee; the musician accepts or declines. A booking becomes binding between the parties only when it is confirmed on the platform.
  • On confirmation the booking fee is held securely and released to the musician after the organisation marks the booking complete. Verogig is not a bank and does not pay interest on held funds.
  • All fees are stated in pounds sterling and inclusive of any applicable VAT where charged.

5. Cancellation policy

  • Before confirmation: either party may withdraw a request at no cost and no platform fee is charged.
  • After confirmation, cancelled by the organisation more than 7 days before the booking date: the held fee is refunded in full, less the platform fee.
  • After confirmation, cancelled by the organisation 7 days or less before the booking date: 50% of the agreed fee is released to the musician in recognition of lost work, and the balance is refunded.
  • After confirmation, cancelled by the musician: the held fee is refunded to the organisation in full, including the platform fee. Repeated late cancellation may lead to removal from the platform.
  • Cancellation for reasons beyond either party's reasonable control (including bereavement, serious illness, or a venue becoming unusable): we will mediate and may waive the above split.
  • Disputes: contact support@verogig.app. We mediate using the booking record and the on-platform message thread before releasing or refunding held funds. Our mediation is administrative and does not remove either party's legal rights.

6. Anti-circumvention (12 months)

Verogig only earns when bookings happen on the platform, and the escrow, records and vetting that protect both sides only work on the platform.

  • For 12 months from the date you are first introduced to a counterparty through Verogig, all bookings and engagements between you and that counterparty must be arranged, confirmed and paid through the platform.
  • This applies to the individuals and organisations you first met via Verogig, including their associated entities, groups, ensembles and related venues.
  • You must not solicit, encourage or accept an off-platform arrangement, and must not exchange contact or payment details to move a booking off-platform before it is confirmed and funded.
  • If a booking is taken off-platform in breach of this clause, we may invoice the party that arranged it for the platform fee that would have applied, suspend or close the accounts involved, and withhold access to escrow protection, records and reviews for that engagement.
  • This clause does not apply to a counterparty you can show you already had a documented working relationship with before your first Verogig introduction.

7. Vetting, auditions and safeguarding

Badges reflect documents a musician has chosen to upload and that we have checked for validity and expiry. A badge is evidence, not a guarantee, and it does not replace an organisation's own safeguarding obligations. Audition clips must show the musician themselves performing. Uploading someone else's performance is grounds for immediate removal. See our Safeguarding Statement for more.

8. Acceptable use

  • Do not post false, misleading, discriminatory, abusive or unlawful content.
  • Do not impersonate another person or organisation, or upload content you do not have the rights to.
  • Do not use the platform to advertise unrelated services, scrape data, or attempt to bypass security or payment controls.

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

  • Verogig provides an introduction and booking platform 'as is'. We do not warrant that a musician will be suitable, that an organisation will be a good host, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • We are not liable for the acts, omissions, performance quality, non-attendance, conduct or content of any user, nor for loss arising from a booking itself.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of goodwill, or loss of opportunity.
  • Where we are liable, our total liability to you for all claims arising from or in connection with a booking is limited to the greater of the platform fee we received for that booking or £250.
  • Users acting in the course of a business accept that the limits above apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Suspension, changes and termination

You may close your account at any time; obligations relating to confirmed bookings and clause 6 survive closure. We may change these terms and will notify account holders by email before a material change takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the change.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
